Villas in Costa Brava
The Costa Brava, meaning wild coast, certainly lives up to its name with its beautiful rugged coastline dotted with wooded slopes leading to pretty coves and beaches. This Spanish coastal region of northeast Catalonia stretches from Blanes, 60 kilometres from the main city Barcelona, down to the French border. With its haunting beauty and great climate enjoying over 2,300 hours of sunshine a year this region has become a popular holiday destination. The fishing villages scattered along this coastline have gradually developed into thriving seaside resorts ranging from large scale developments to hidden gems where traditional buildings have been turned into stylish Costa Brava villas like our Villa El Mas. This large rambling farmhouse set in the pretty hamlet of Canapost dates back to 1690 and mixes traditional Catalonian charm with modern touches such as your own swimming pool within its walled garden. Another rustic gem in our exclusive collection of Costa Brava villas is Villa El Moli, a restored mill in a tranquil setting complete with pool and millpond and yet you're only a short drive from the bustling market town of Palafrugell and its nearby beaches.
Between the larger coastal resorts of Roses, where traditional fishing boats rub shoulders with state-of-the-art yachts, and Tossa del Mar made famous in the film 'The Flying Dutchman' (there's a statue to its star Ava Gardner in town) there are some delightful coastal towns. Many of our
villas in Costa Brava are in this area like Villa Nicole where you can enjoy its breathtaking vista over the magnificent Cap de Begur from both its private pool and landscaped terraced gardens. If you're a golf fan, one of our Costa Brava villas could be a great base to explore the many golf courses in this area.
Some of the most prestigious beaches in the Costa Brava are in the Begur and Pals area where a lot of our Costa Brava villas are located, beaches such as Sa Riere, Aigua Freda, Sa Tuna, Platja Fonda, Fornells and Aigua Blava. If you enjoy exploring, the nearby hilltop medieval towns of Begur with its castle, and the restored Gothic Quarter of Pals are worth a visit. From here you can also see the wildfowl rich marshlands of L'Empordà, and off the coast here you can see the archipelago of seven Medes Islands, which is one of the most important nature and marine reserves in the western Mediterranean and a fantastic place to visit when staying at one of our
Costa Brava villas.
Costa Brava Villas
Down the coast one of our Costa Brava villas, Villa Sant Miguel, is set on the hillside above the bay of Tamariu. It's an area famous for its outstanding beauty and the coast is dotted with small coves set amongst pine-covered cliffs. The south-facing beach at Tamariu, with its fabulous range of seafood restaurants, is one of the most sheltered beaches in the Costa Brava and ideal for young swimmers. The waters around this area are some of the purest on the coast and if you can dive you can explore the submerged mountain of the Llosa de Cala Nova and underwater caves in this area.
