Algarve 'a golfer's paradise' |
The sunny Algarve region of Portugal remains the number one holiday spot for sports enthusiasts looking to play a round or two of golf while away.
According to the Independent newspaper, golfers staying in Algarve villas have a huge amount of choice when it comes to courses.
There are various resorts across the Algarve which offer holidaymakers spectacular holiday villas just minutes from the nearest golf course.
One of the most popular remains the 45-year-old Vale do Lobo a massive resort with two championship courses and around 1,000 villas to stay in.
Golfing holidays are becoming increasingly popular with more than 1,000 organisations from over 70 countries now members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
However, many players struggle when it comes to transporting their clubs from the UK to their final destination.
The newspaper recommends getting additional insurance for expensive clubs and ensuring they are in a protective bag during transit.
