Algarve explores local worlds |
People staying in Algarve villas this summer with an interest in culture and international diversity will be spoilt for choice of events to attend.
A series of exhibitions and activities entitled Local Worlds – Spaces, Visibilities and Transcultural Flows will run from June 14th to September 21st.
This celebration of cultural diversity will be based at two centres in the Algarve – Forte Pau da Bandeira and Centro Cultural de Lagos.
The initiative will use a range of recent artistic work to reflect on the fields of cultural diversity and eclecticism that characterise the modern world.
Lagos and its cultural characteristics provide the starting point for the exhibition series, with examinations of the cultural effects of the tourism industry on the Algarve.
There will also be shows and talks by a group called the Psychological Art Circus, as well as film and documentary screenings.
People staying in Algarve villas will find the Centro Cultural de Lagos on Rua Lancarote de Freitas and Forte Pau da Bandeira at Cais da Solaria.
