Almeria celebrates classical guitar |
Holidaymakers staying in Costa del Sol villas this year may be interested in making the trip to Almeria to attend a festival dedicated to the classical guitar.
Enthusiastic guitarists or people interested in expanding their musical knowledge can find the Julian Arcas classical guitar competition at the Instituto de Estudios de Cajamar on Paseo de Almeria between May 30th and June 14th.
Founded in 2000, the event is open to all classical guitar players and intends to promote the study and appreciation of the instrument.
Visitors will be able to see competitors taking part in three sections – the Antonio de Torres under-13 category, the Jose Tomas section for the under-18s and the Julian Arcas category for all ages.
Almeria is a popular location for people on villa holidays in Spain, situated on the country's southern coast in the Andalusia region.
The city is located at the foot of a mountain range and in recent years has begun to compete with Spanish tourism hotspots such as Malaga, Seville and Granada.
