Brest prepares to launch nautical fest |
Villa holidays in France in June will offer the opportunity to experience one of the country's foremost nautical festivals.
Brest 2008 will be held in the north-western province of Brittany on July 11th to 17th.
This festival offers plenty of exhibitions and attractions to hold the interest of people with an enthusiasm for all things maritime.
Visitors will be able to see fleets of navy ships and crews in action, as well as amateur sailors and smaller leisure craft.
Among the highlights of the 2008 festival is a traditional sailing craft village in Parc a Chaine, a display of some speedy Formula One racing boats and a number of international villages representing Madagascar, Switzerland, Norway and others.
Brest has a rich and interesting maritime heritage, which visitors staying in villas in France can find out more about at the Musee de la Marine de Brest.
The city also boasts an aquarium and the Oceanopolis marine centre.
