Costa del Sol to be jellyfish-free |
Holidaymakers booking Costa del Sol villas can rest assured that the number of jellyfish on the beaches will be reduced this year.
More than 300,000 is to be spent on moving the creatures away from the shore to protect the thousands of tourists who flock there during the summer.
From June 1st, four boats will be on patrol off the Costa del Sol and will be in charge of clearing the areas which are most popular with swimmers.
It is thought that the cooler weather experienced in the region this month will reduce the number of jellyfish in the area but climate change means that they are becoming a regular feature on Mediterranean beaches.
Those who are less keen on relaxing on the beach may want to opt for a villa with a pool where they can cool off in privacy.
The Costa del Sol is famous for its endless sunny days and numerous tourist attractions, including the world-famous Picasso Museum in Malaga.
