Discover the work of Vincenzo Danti |
People staying in Tuscany villas this summer may fancy paying a visit to Florence to discover the work of a master sculptor.
An exhibition currently being held at the Bargello Museum was prompted by the restoration of Danti's best known bronze group of works.
The sculptor produced a number of iconic pieces now found in Florence, including statues representing the beheading of St John the Baptist, which are located above the 'doors of paradise' at the Baptistry.
His works are on exhibit at museums around the world and a number of them have been lent to the Bargello Museum for this year's display, creating a fairly comprehensive representation of his career.
Holidaymakers staying in Tuscany villas will be able to visit the exhibition in Florence until September 7th.
The Bargello Museum can be found on Via del Proconsolo.
