Emusical to run throughout September |
Brits planning villa holidays on the Costa Brava in September will have the opportunity to attend the Emusical festival.
This celebration of the diversity of music has been running since July 12th and there will be two more events held on September 13th and 27th.
Performances take place in churches in the town of Toses and more information can be found at tourist information centres in the area.
The festival celebrates all sorts of music from across the world, including Brazilian sounds, jazz, Catalan folk, Occitan singing, classical music and traditional songs from the Pyrenees.
People with an interest in the culture and history of the Pyrenees can explore a driving route that stretches between the high peaks in Cerdanya and Cap de Creus.
The places of interest in this region include the spectacular valleys of Camprodon, Ribes, Nuria and Cerdanya, and villages where architecture and activities traditionally linked to the Pyrenean economy have been preserved.
Brits on villa holidays on the Costa Brava may be particularly interested in visiting the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, which was founded in 887.
