French air network boosted |
People on villa holidays in Provence will soon be given the option of a convenient day-trip to Paris with the launch of a new air service.
Low-fares carrier Ryanair announced that it will launch its first domestic route in France, running from Marseille to Paris, in May.
The carrier also announced a service in Germany between Frankfurt and Berlin and said that the flights will enable travellers in these countries to make savings as there will be an alternative to national airlines.
Passengers in these countries will save a combined total of 26 million (£20.4 million) on air fares every year, Ryanair claimed.
Peter Sherrard, the airline's head of communications, said that some 60,000 passengers are expected to use the new French route over a 12-month period.
Ryanair offers flights from the UK to a number of other popular regions for villa holidays across Europe, including the Algarve, Florence, Rome and Mallorca.
