Get familiar with folk in Cadiz |
Holidaymakers staying in Costa del Sol villas may want to pay a visit to the city of Cadiz this year to enjoy some folk music.
The Cadiz International Folk Festival is held every year in July, with this year's event running from July 9th to 15th.
It features concerts by six foreign groups and four Spanish artists, as well as a parade through the streets of Cadiz old town.
Other complementary events that are part of the festival include folklore conferences sponsored by Cadiz University, exhibitions of traditional arts and crafts, guided tours of the city and a photography competition.
Cadiz is located in south-west Spain, along the coast from the better known Costa del Sol city of Malaga.
It is home to a variety of landmarks and locations of architectural significance, including a cathedral exhibiting various artistic styles, a theatre, an old municipal building and an 18th century watchtower.
