Juris Cup to take to the water in Marseille |
Brits taking villa holidays in Provence will be able to enjoy an unusual spectacle next month as the Juris' Cup is held in Marseille.
This sailing event is an unconventional affair as the entire field of competitors is made up mostly of lawyers.
Some 1,500 individuals from the legal profession will take part in the regatta, which is contested in a competitive but jovial spirit.
According to Whatsonwhen.com, one of the principal rules of the event is that at least half of each team must be made up of lawyers, a definition that ranges from law students to practising professionals.
The Juris Cup provides quite a spectacle as the vessels take to the water, with many of the yachts bearing the colours of the legal firms or courts they represent.
People with a passion for all things maritime will find plenty to keep them interested if they incorporate a trip to Marseille into their villa holidays.
The city is France's largest commercial port and its harbour area is one of the most popular places to eat in the area.
