Malaga explores fascination with photography |
People staying in Costa del Sol villas over the coming months will be able to visit the Picasso Museum in Malaga as it explores the history and significance of photography.
Human beings have had an obsession with the concept of the photograph since film-based cameras became popular in the late 19th century.
An exhibition exploring this fact, called On the Human Being: International Photography 1900-1950, will go on show at Malaga's Picasso Museum until May 25th.
The show, curated by Ute Eskildsen of the Museum Folkwang in Essen, Germany, brings together 111 images from 68 leading photographers who worked in the first half of the 20th century.
Shots taken by Cecil Beaton, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Man Ray, Alexander Rodtchenko, Edward Steichen and many more are included in the exhibition.
The collection of images comprises portraits of well-known figures as well as shots of anonymous but evocative faces.
Art lovers staying in Costa del Sol villas will be able to find plenty to pique their interest at the Picasso Museum in Malaga, including an extensive collection of work by the artist after whom the establishment is named.
