Modernist American work on show in Barcelona |
Visits to Costa Brava villas will offer holidaymakers the opportunity to attend an exhibition on modern American art in Barcelona over the coming months.
The exhibition American Modernism will be held at the Joan Miro Foundation until January 25th 2009.
Holidaymakers who make the trip to Barcelona to see the show will be able to take a close look at more than 100 paintings, which were transported from the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington for the exhibition.
A number of well-known American artists feature in the exhibition, including Edward Hopper, Cy Twombly, Mark Rothko and John Singer Sargent.
People staying in Costa Brava villas can see a number of exhibitions throughout the year at the Miro Foundation, which was opened to honour the Catalan painter and sculptor Joan Miro.
Other popular art institutions in Barcelona include the Picasso Museum and the National Museum of Art of Catalonia.
