New route to boost access to Alicante |
Villa holidays on the Costa Blanca will become more easily accessible for people in northern England later this year thanks to new flights from Manchester to Spain.
Low-fares airline easyJet announced that it will offer a new service to the holiday destination of Alicante from September 29th.
Travellers who have booked their Costa Blanca villas will be able to choose from one of four weekly flights from Manchester to Alicante.
EasyJet predicted that close to 60,000 passengers will use the service in its first year of operation and family groups in particular are expected to welcome the new route.
Carly Brear, the airline's UK commercial manager, confirmed that this is the first new service to be announced since easyJet opened its base in Manchester.
She added: "Alicante has proven to be a popular destination from other easyJet bases in the UK and now independent travellers from the north-west can take advantage of this new service from our Manchester base, to one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations."
People staying in Costa del Sol villas can also travel from Manchester with easyJet, with regular flights going to the southern city of Malaga.
