New routes from Birmingham to holiday spots
Villa holidays to a number of hotspots across Europe are set to become more accessible for travellers from the West Midlands over the coming months.

Low-fares airline Ryanair made Costa Brava villa holidays an easier option when it launched a new service to Girona from Birmingham international airport on April 1st.

People from Birmingham considering staying in Tuscany villas can also fly to Pisa with Ryanair, following the launch of a new flight on April 2nd.

Over the coming months, the airline will begin flying from the West Midlands to holiday destinations including Marseille, in the Provence region of France, as well as Porto in Portugal and Trapani in Sicily.

Rachel Nicholson, the airline's sales and marketing executive, said: "We were delighted to announce Birmingham as Ryanair's 25th base in January and now it will be a very exciting time to see the routes launching one after the other.

"Barcelona (Girona) and the Costa Brava is a great holiday destination with a range of proposals in terms of sights, entertainment, sport, culture and cuisine…Pisa also has lots to offer and will always be a great choice for a holiday getaway."

The two routes to Girona and Pisa are expected to bring an extra 80,000 passengers through Birmingham airport in their first year of operations.
