Plans to install big wheel in Alicante considered |
Plans to introduce a London Eye-style Ferris wheel in the Costa Blanca could attract families enjoying villa holidays in Spain if approved.
Although the proposals have not yet been given the green light, Typically Spanish reports that the building of a big wheel in Alicante is currently under discussion. The website claims that the Alicante Hostelry Association has put forward the idea aimed at promoting the area in preparation for the Volvo Ocean Race. If given the go-ahead, the wheel would be built in the port area and would be a major attraction to visitors holidaying in the region. Earlier this month, flight search engine SkyScanner found that Alicante was the most searched-for flight destination over the half-term holiday period. The city was followed by Malaga, Tenerife and Palma as the most sought after places, which all remain popular with UK families looking to enjoy holiday villas.
