Rally action roars into Algarve |
Motorsport fans staying in Algarve villas in May might be able to catch Portugal's rally event.
Between May 8th and 10th, the world's top rally drivers will be in southern Portugal to pit their abilities and engine power against one another.
The rally takes a route that combines open stretches that enable the drivers to really put the pedal down with more complex and technically challenging tracks.
Portugal's Algarve Stadium, which is situated just eight kilometres from Faro international airport will serve a dual purpose for the event – as the setting for the closing ceremony and also as the rally teams' operational centre.
A number of installations and facilities will be set up in the stadium, for the use of drivers and teams but also for the media and for visiting motorsport fans.
The Algarve is one of the most popular tourist regions in Europe and is famous for its stunning landscapes and pleasant climate.
It comprises a number of visitor hotspots such as Faro, Portimao, Albufeira and Lagos.
