'Real Spain' still exists on Costa del Sol |
Holidaymakers hoping to get a true taste of Spain can find plenty to enjoy in the Costa del Sol, one expert has claimed.
While most tourists flock to the stunning beaches in the region, there are also plenty of spectacular locations further inland, the Spanish Property Owners Guild says.
According to Paul Bradley, spokesman for the organisations, there are some beautiful areas in the region which are rarely explored by Brits in villas in the Costa del Sol.
"Take La Vinuela, for example. A beautiful valley surrounding a reservoir about ten miles in from the coast north of Torre del Mar, which is 20 miles east of Malaga on the Costa del Sol," Mr Bradley said.
"It has dramatic mountainous landscapes, rolling hills, olive trees and peasants farming very much as they have done for centuries."
He added that these areas are beginning to cater to the growing number of tourists from the UK.
"Now there are British farmers markets where you can buy freshly baked pork pies and cornish pasties, British pubs, cafes, restaurants and butchers, estate agents, builders, SATTV, internet et cetera," he said.
