Rennes takes on new character in July |
The French town of Rennes will be taking on an entirely new character that people on villa holidays in Brittany will be able to enjoy in July.
Between July 1st and 6th, the provincial capital of Brittany hosts Les Tombees de la Nuit (The Fall of the Night), an event that sees the town host music, and light and sound shows every evening.
Various locations throughout Rennes get involved in the festival, with musicians performing on street corners and poets and storytellers airing their thoughts in public spaces.
In the past the picturesque Garden of Thabor has hosted musical performances and canvas-covered theatres have been set up on the Rue de la Monnaie.
France is famous for its food and the eateries of Rennes get involved in this event by creating dishes specifically for the occasion.
People on villa holidays in Brittany can see a number of sights in Rennes, including the Saint-Aubin Church and the Saint-Germain footbridge.
