Rome hosts athletics showdown |
Sports enthusiasts may wish to consider booking a villa in Rome next month when the city is due to host the popular Golden Gala tournament.
The evening event, being held on July 11th, is the third leg of the annual Golden League series where top athletes from across the globe meet and compete.
Fans from across the world are expected to pack into the Stadio Olimpico – many of which will be staying in holiday villas near by.
Created in 1980 to allow for a major athletics event to be held Rome, it remains one of the most popular Italian sporting evenings of the year.
For 2008, athletes will be battling it out for a mammoth prize of $1million which they will scoop if they win all the trials of the circuit.
