See some world-class photography on a Provence holiday
Provence villa rental could prove a popular option among photography enthusiasts planning French holidays this year, with a major event set to take place in the region.

The 2010 Sony World Photography Awards will be based at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from April 22nd to 27th.

Both professional and amateur photographers can submit entries to the awards programme, with accolades handed out to recognise the most outstanding work of the past year.

Various categories are covered in the awards, from photojournalism and fashion to landscape and music photography.

People planning to visit Cannes during a French villa holiday will be able to see a number of indoor and outdoor exhibitions during the event, which will be free to members of the public.

One of the main shows will feature over 200 images by dozens of people from around the world, which will be chosen for display by members of the World Photographic Academy.

Holidaymakers staying in villas in France will be able to see the exhibition outside the Palais des Festivals.
