Spain basks in heatwave temperatures |
People on villa holidays in Spain this week will certainly not have to worry about a lack of sunshine on their trip as the country is currently in the middle of a heatwave.
Forecasts have suggested that temperatures could reach highs of 41 degrees centigrade in some parts of the country before the end of the week, Typically Spanish reports.
Experts from the Spanish Meteorological Office said that the conditions are the result of a wave of hot air from Africa that is sweeping across the Iberian peninsula.
Temperatures are expected to stay high in the south of the country until Friday July 25th and increase in many other areas from today (July 22nd).
People staying in Costa del Sol villas this week will have been particularly aware of the temperatures Malaga experienced its hottest day of the year yesterday, with highs of 38 degrees C.
Other locations to see soaring temperatures included Marbella, Estepona and Torrox.
