Spanish beach makes Conde Nast top 10 |
People planning villa holidays on the Costa del Sol may be tempted to visit the village of Tarifa after hearing of a Conde Nast Traveller magazine review of the area's local beaches.
Tarifa was named one of the top ten locations for a coastal trip this summer and was dubbed the best destination for a sporty beach holiday.
It appeared on the top ten list alongside exotic destinations such as Tasmania in Australia, Hermanus in South Africa and Bora Bora in French Polynesia.
Conde Nast Traveller said that, while lazy beach holidays are appealing, many people "want to go to the other extreme", and it is for these people that Tarifa is highly recommended.
The village's 14km beach is located in an area where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and offers holidaymakers opportunities to try activities such as kitesurfing and diving.
People on villa holidays who visit Tarifa can also sample the village's tapas bars and see La Sacristia, a restored 17th-century Moorish inn.
