Troodos region to host themed weekends |
People enjoying villa holidays in Cyprus in August may be tempted to venture into the mountainous Troodos region to experience a number of themed events.
The series of weekend events will begin on August 2nd in Alona village with a painting and engraving exhibition featuring the work of two local artists accompanied by piano and saxophone music.
Polystypos village will be the destination for the next event, on August 3rd, which will involve a walk through hazelnut woods, a children's fair, traditional games and music performances.
August 15th-17th will be the next weekend of the festival, with local craft shows, dance theatre and music events being held in the villages of Lemythou, Treis Elies and Agios Demetrios.
The series of weekend celebrations will come to an end on August 24th, with a presentation of ceramic art being held in Phoini village.
Cyprus' Troodos mountain region, which provides plenty of opportunities for excursions for people on villa holidays, stretches across most of the western side of the island and boasts Mount Olympus as its highest peak.
